Peak Sells 10 Million Copies

Indie climbing sensation Peak has officially reached 10 million copies sold, according to Aliena Analytics analyst Rhys Elliott and Gamescom Opening Night Live host Geoff Keighley.

Elliott first shared the milestone in his Monday newsletter, noting the game sold 1.7 million copies the previous week and was projected to hit 10 million sometime Tuesday. Keighley later confirmed the figure live during Opening Night Live. It marks the second indie title released in 2025 to cross this threshold, following R.E.P.O., which has sold 16.8 million copies.

Peak has enjoyed strong performance on Steam since its June launch, consistently ranking among the most-played games on the platform. As of this article’s publication, it had around 88,000 concurrent players on Steam, according to SteamDB—slightly ahead of Naraka: Bladepoint and just behind GTA 5.

The game’s popularity surged last week after a price drop from $7.99 to $4.95, paired with the release of the new Mesa update. This led to a sharp increase in both sales and concurrent players, peaking at 171,000 simultaneous users on Sunday and 1.3 million total users throughout the day, according to Alinea.

Peak is a survival climbing game developed by Aggro Crab, supporting up to four players who team up to scale a mountain, overcoming challenges and managing stamina. The game’s rapid rise has inspired numerous Roblox clones, prompting the developer to comment on social media that they’d prefer players pirate Peak over playing a “microtransaction-heavy Roblox knock-off.”
