Battlefield Labs: Players Access Pre-Release Games
Battlefield Labs: Shaping the Future of Battlefield Through Community Collaboration
Battlefield Studios has launched Battlefield Labs, a revolutionary testing platform designed to foster collaboration between players and developers in shaping the future of the Battlefield franchise. This initiative, announced on February 3, 2025, in partnership with Electronic Arts (EA), marks a significant step towards community-driven game development.

Direct Player Influence on Battlefield's Development
Recognizing the critical development phase of the next Battlefield installment, Battlefield Studios is seeking unprecedented community involvement. Selected players will be at the forefront of testing new features and mechanics, providing invaluable feedback directly impacting the final product.

Initially, players from European and North American servers will be invited to participate. While participation is currently invite-only, sign-ups are open, and Battlefield Studios promises regular updates to keep the broader community informed. Future Battlefield titles are also planned to incorporate this collaborative approach.
Vince Zampella, Head of Respawn & Group GM for EA Studios Organization, stated, "This game has so much potential… Battlefield Labs empowers our teams [to realize that potential]."

Testing Core Gameplay Elements
Battlefield Labs will focus on iterative testing of key gameplay aspects. The initial phase will concentrate on core combat and destruction, followed by weapon, vehicle, and gadget balancing. Finally, the testing will culminate in evaluating the integration of these elements within maps, game modes, and squad dynamics.

Two established modes, Conquest and Breakthrough, will be included, providing opportunities to refine existing mechanics and explore innovative improvements. Conquest, a large-scale battle for control points, utilizes a ticket-based system. Breakthrough, featuring attackers and defenders, also employs a ticket system with additional rewards for successful sector captures.

The class system will also undergo refinement based on player feedback. While confident in their current progress, Battlefield Studios emphasizes the crucial role of player input in achieving the optimal balance of form, function, and feel. The collective expertise of DICE, Ripple Effect, Motive, and Criterion studios fuels this commitment to player-centric development.
