Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”

Remedy Entertainment's ambition is to become a leading force in the gaming industry. Inspired by Naughty Dog, particularly their Uncharted series, Remedy aims to be "Europe's Naughty Dog," according to Alan Wake 2 director Kyle Rowley. Rowley, in a Behind The Voice podcast interview, detailed how this aspiration shaped Quantum Break and, subsequently, Alan Wake 2.

"We aspire to be the European version of Naughty Dog," he stated.

This influence is clear in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, praised for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The game's success cemented Remedy's status as a top European studio.

Remedy's goals extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (the latter a record-breaking award winner), serves as a benchmark.

Alan Wake 2, over a year post-launch, continues receiving updates enhancing gameplay across all platforms. Key improvements include PS5 Pro optimization, introducing a "Balanced" graphics mode that combines the best of Performance and Quality modes.

These updates also refine graphical settings for smoother frame rates and clearer visuals, alongside minor bug fixes, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
