Thomas Waterzooi Launches Innovative Art Game: Experience Mobile Artwork Now

Jun 11,25

Thomas Waterzooi is back with another uniquely artistic and mind-bending puzzle experience. His latest creation, *Please, Watch The Artwork*, shifts the focus from interaction to observation, offering players a meditative yet unsettling journey through animated modern art. Set to arrive on mobile platforms soon, the game made its debut at the Day of the Devs showcase during Summer Game Fest 2025.

Following the success of *Please, Touch The Artwork* (2022) and its sequel *Please, Touch The Artwork 2* (early 2024), this new entry takes the series in a more introspective and psychological direction. Rather than focusing on touch-based interaction, *Please, Watch The Artwork* invites players to observe carefully and detect subtle changes—turning passive viewing into an engaging gameplay mechanic.

It’s important to note that this spin-off does not replace the upcoming third installment of the original series. Thomas Waterzooi has confirmed that *Please, Touch The Artwork 3* remains in active development. You can view the announcement trailer for *Please, Watch The Artwork* below:

A Quietly Disturbing Puzzle Experience

At its heart, *Please, Watch The Artwork* is a spot-the-difference game like no other. You step into the role of a nightwatch at the fictional MaMA—Museum of Animated Modern Art. Your task is simple: monitor surveillance feeds of various paintings that subtly shift and evolve over time.

You must identify visual and auditory anomalies before they escalate into something more unsettling. As you progress, the atmosphere grows increasingly eerie, wrapped in silence and a creeping sense of dread. Inspired by the works of Edward Hopper, the game reimagines over 40 iconic paintings across six distinct galleries.

Each gallery presents unique themes—from lonely diners and somber bedrooms to shadowy urban streets. These scenes loop and animate, creating a hypnotic rhythm that draws you deeper into their world. There is no background music, only ambient sounds that enhance immersion and serve as part of the puzzle itself. Every creak, whisper, or distortion could be a clue.

Platform Availability and Release Date

*Please, Watch The Artwork* will launch on Android, iOS, PC, and Nintendo Switch. While an exact release date hasn’t been announced, Waterzooi has hinted at an October release window for the mobile version. The game was introduced via an ASMR-style voiceover, further reinforcing its surreal and atmospheric tone.
