Sea battle
"Sea Battle" is a classic game designed for two players, where each participant takes turns guessing the coordinates on their opponent's hidden map. If a player's guess hits a ship at those coordinates, that ship or part of it is considered "sunk," and the successful player earns another turn. The ultimate goal is to be the first to sink all of the opponent's ships.
The game is played on a 10x10 grid for each player, where a fleet of ships is strategically placed. The fleet consists of:
- 1 ship of 4 cells ("four-deck"; battleship)
- 2 ships of 3 cells ("three-deck"; cruisers)
- 3 ships of 2 cells ("double-decked"; destroyers)
- 4 ships of 1 cell ("single-deck"; torpedo boats)
When arranging the ships, they must not touch each other, either by sides or corners. Adjacent to the player's own grid is an empty "enemy" grid of the same size, representing the sea where the opponent's ships are located.
When a player successfully hits an enemy ship, they mark it with a cross on their enemy grid. Missed shots are marked with a dot. The player who was hit gets to shoot next.
The game can be enjoyed against bots of varying difficulty levels or through a local network (LAN) or WiFi, without the need for an internet connection. For LAN play, you can either create a WiFi hotspot on one device and connect to it from another, or both devices can connect to the same router.
