Rush Royale Approved for Release in China

  • My.Games' Rush Royale is preparing for its official launch in China.
  • The approval license was granted following a notably swift turnaround.
  • However, Rush Royale may encounter intense competition in a highly dynamic market.

My.Games has successfully obtained a release license for its multiplayer tower defense game, Rush Royale. This development could soon introduce Chinese players to this popular title, marking a bold step for the developer. Notably, this isn't the first game from My.Games to enter the Chinese market.

So why is a license necessary? In China, all game developers, whether domestic or international, must secure one before launching a game. As readers of our sister site PocketGamer.biz may recall, a previous licensing freeze created significant ripples across China's gaming industry.

Since that freeze, however, the environment has improved considerably, especially for international developers. My.Games, having already launched War Robots and Huge Castle in China, is now poised for its third consecutive release in the country.

According to My.Games, the Chinese version of Rush Royale will be published by the local firm iDreamSky, which will oversee its operations within the country. Their collaboration reportedly led to an unusually quick license approval—a positive sign that bolsters the developer's confidence in the game's success.

Still, like many international developers, My.Games faces strong competition. High-quality games, such as the recently released Mirren: Star Legend on the global stage, are abundant in the Chinese market. Should Rush Royale become a hit, it would reach a massive and dedicated mobile gaming audience.
