Prime Video's Butterfly, adapted from BOOM! Studios' graphic novel by Arash Amel, is a character-driven spy-thriller exploring family ties against the backdrop of global espionage.

The story follows David Jung (Kim), a mysterious former US intelligence operative in South Korea, whose life unravels when past choices resurface, drawing the attention of Rebecca (Hardesty), a lethal young agent tasked with his elimination, and Caddis, the shadowy spy network she serves.

Butterfly fulfills my vision of uniting American and Korean storytellers to craft a series that connects two cultures I cherish,” said Kim. “I’m thrilled with our talented cast and crew, and I’m grateful to Ken Woodruff, Boom! Studios, 3AD, Amazon, and everyone who brought this project to life.”

Ken Woodruff, known for The Mentalist and Gotham, serves as showrunner and co-creator alongside novelist Steph Cha. The cast also includes Kim Ji-hoon, Park Hae-soo, Kim Tae-hee, Charles Parnell, Sean Dulake, and Nayoon Kim, with Sung Dong-il and Lee Il-hwa in guest roles.

Executive producers include Woodruff, Cha, and Kim, joined by John Cheng for 3AD, Stephen Christy and Ross Richie for BOOM! Studios, and Arash Amel for The Amel Company.
