Two years after its global launch in February 2023, Atomic Heart has officially surpassed 10 million players across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms—a remarkable achievement for a debut title from developer Mundfish.

While this number reflects unique player accounts rather than direct sales, it underscores the game’s massive appeal and lasting impact. Atomic Heart was celebrated as a surprise breakout in the AAA space, earning widespread acclaim for its bold artistic vision, immersive atompunk aesthetic, and cinematic storytelling. The game’s success was cemented by over 60 "Best of the Year" accolades, including multiple Game of the Year honors.

The studio has since released three narrative DLC expansions, each expanding the lore of the alternate-history Soviet Union and deepening the mystery of the "Palace of the People." A fourth expansion is currently in development, signaling continued support and commitment to the franchise.

In our original review, we praised the game as:

"A highly imaginative, atompunk-inspired endeavor that aims to carry forward the legacy of games like BioShock. Despite some missteps, it demonstrates remarkable ambition and punches well above its weight."
We awarded it an 8/10, recognizing its creative daring and technical polish.

Now, as Atomic Heart continues to grow its legacy, Mundfish has launched Mundfish Powerhouse, a new initiative designed to empower independent developers and investors by offering expert support in game development, publishing, and market positioning. This move signals the studio’s ambition not just as creators, but as industry leaders shaping the future of game development.

With over 10 million players, critical acclaim, and a robust expansion roadmap, Atomic Heart has firmly established itself as one of the most distinctive and enduring entries in modern FPS history.
