Two years after its global launch in February 2023, Atomic Heart has officially surpassed 10 million players across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. This milestone—though based on player accounts rather than direct sales—underscores the game’s massive impact and enduring popularity.

Developed by Mundfish, Atomic Heart made a stunning debut as a first-time AAA title from a new studio. Set in an alternate-history Soviet Union during the height of the Cold War, the game blends atompunk aesthetics, bold cinematic storytelling, and innovative gameplay mechanics. With its striking visual design, haunting soundtrack, and surreal take on dystopian utopia, it captured the imagination of fans and critics alike.

The game received over 60 "Best of the Year" accolades, including multiple Game of the Year honors, and earned an 8/10 from IGN, which praised it as “a highly imaginative, atompunk-inspired endeavor that aims to carry forward the legacy of games like BioShock,” noting that despite some flaws, it “punches well above its weight.”

Since launch, Atomic Heart has released three narrative DLC expansionsThe Path of the Forest, Carnival of the Weeping, and The Flower of the Siberian Sun—each expanding the game’s world, lore, and emotional depth. A fourth, highly anticipated DLC is currently in development, promising to further explore the mysteries of the mysterious Project: Heart.

In celebration of this success and to support the next generation of creative talent, Mundfish has launched "Mundfish Powerhouse", a new initiative designed to help independent studios and investors bring ambitious, high-quality game projects to market. The program offers expertise in development, publishing, narrative design, and marketing—leveraging Mundfish’s hard-won experience from building Atomic Heart from the ground up.

As Atomic Heart continues to grow in legacy and reach, it stands as a landmark achievement not just for the studio, but for the future of narrative-driven FPS games.
