TCG: 'Prismatic Evolutions' Shortage Addressed
The Pokémon Company addresses ongoing shortages of its highly anticipated Prismatic Evolutions expansion for the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG). Acknowledging widespread supply issues impacting global availability, the company issued a statement expressing gratitude for fans' patience.
The statement confirmed that reprints of Prismatic Evolutions products are currently underway and will soon be distributed to licensed retailers. While no specific release date for these reprints was given, the company emphasized its commitment to maximizing production capacity to meet the exceptionally high demand. The statement refrained from directly addressing speculation regarding scalping as the cause of the shortages, simply attributing the problem to strong consumer interest.
Beyond the reprints, the Pokémon Company reassured fans that additional Prismatic Evolutions products are on the way. These include a Mini Tin and Surprise Box (February 7th), a Booster Bundle and Accessory Pouch Special Collection (March 7th and April 25th respectively), a Super-Premium Collection (May 16th), and a Premium Figure Collection (September 26th). Players can also acquire cards from the set early by participating in the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game's Battle Pass, starting January 16th. The company's proactive response and commitment to increased production suggest a resolution to the current shortages is on the horizon.
