The long-anticipated details of the Nintendo Switch 2 have finally emerged, and the specs are more impressive than many expected. The new console supports up to 120fps and can achieve 4K resolution when docked, marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor.

PlayDuring today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo showcased several key features of the system. The Nintendo Switch 2 boasts a larger 7.9-inch built-in screen, maintaining the same thickness of 13.9mm but doubling the pixel count. This upgrade allows for a 1080p display in handheld mode at up to 120fps, and it features an LCD screen with HDR support. When docked, it can deliver stunning visuals with up to 4K resolution and HDR.

The Joy-Con 2 controllers have been redesigned with magnetic connections and a release button on the back for easy detachment. The SL and SR buttons on the sides are now larger, enhancing the experience when playing horizontally. Additionally, the left and right sticks are also bigger, and this segment officially introduced mouse control support within the Joy-Con controllers.

The handheld version of the Nintendo Switch 2 includes a built-in microphone with noise-canceling technology and supports 3D audio for compatible games. It also features a larger, more robust stand that can be adjusted to various heights. A top USB port is included for external camera connectivity or to charge the system in tabletop mode.

One of the final revelations is that the Nintendo Switch 2 comes equipped with 256GB of internal storage, providing ample space for games and applications.
