The Monster Hunter Wilds team recently shared a pre-release community update, covering console specifications, weapon adjustments, and more. This update clarifies system requirements and other behind-the-scenes developments.

Lower Minimum PC Specs on the Horizon

The developers confirmed plans to reduce the minimum PC specifications, expanding accessibility to a broader player base. While specifics remain undisclosed, this adjustment will be revealed closer to the launch date. Capcom is also exploring the possibility of releasing a PC benchmark tool.

Console Performance: A Closer Look

The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions will offer two graphical modes: "Prioritize Graphics" (4K resolution at 30fps) and "Prioritize Framerate" (1080p resolution at 60fps). The Xbox Series S will run natively at 1080p resolution and 30fps. A rendering bug affecting the framerate mode has been resolved, resulting in improved performance. While enhanced graphics are promised for the PS5 Pro version at launch, detailed specifications are yet to be released.

Potential Second Open Beta Test

The possibility of a second open beta testing phase is under consideration. This would primarily provide an opportunity for players who missed the first beta to experience the game. However, it's important to note that the improvements and adjustments discussed in the recent livestream will not be included in this potential second beta and will only be available in the full release.

Other key improvements mentioned include enhanced hitstop and sound effects for a more impactful feel, reduced friendly fire instances, and weapon adjustments across the board, with particular attention given to the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe, and Lance.

Monster Hunter Wilds is scheduled for release on February 28th, 2025, for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
