Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post-PSN Outage

Apr 02,25

Capcom has announced an extension for the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a significant PlayStation Network (PSN) outage that lasted 24 hours, impacting the game's playability during its initial test phase. The outage began at around 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until approximately 24 hours later. Sony attributed the disruption to an "operational issue" and, in response, offered PlayStation Plus members an additional five days of service.

The downtime severely affected online gameplay, including single-player games that require server authentication or a continuous internet connection. Monster Hunter Wilds, which was in the midst of its highly anticipated second beta, saw its session from Thursday, February 6 to Sunday, February 9, cut short. In light of this, Capcom has confirmed a 24-hour extension for the upcoming session, now scheduled to run from Thursday, February 13 at 7pm PT / Friday, February 14 at 3am GMT, to Monday, February 17 at 6:59 pm PT / Tuesday, February 18 at 2:59 am GMT.

During this extended period, players will continue to be eligible for the participation bonuses that will carry over to the full version of the game, as stated by Capcom. Despite the disruption, participants in the beta were able to engage with one of Monster Hunter Wilds' major challenges, the formidable new monster known as Arkveld.

Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch officially on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
