Marvel Rivals Switch 2 Release Possible
Marvel Rivals, the popular hero shooter, is a smash hit on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. However, NetEase has confirmed it won't be coming to the original Nintendo Switch. But what about the Nintendo Switch 2?
We recently spoke with Marvel Rivals producer Weicong Wu at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas, and the news for Switch fans is promising. Regarding a potential Switch 2 release, Wu stated: "We're already in contact with Nintendo and working on some development kits. Whenever we find that we could provide great performance for our game on Switch 2, we're open to that. The reason why we didn't launch it on the original Switch was that the first-generation device couldn't provide a great experience for our gameplay. So if the Switch 2 can achieve that goal, we're open to it."
The Nintendo Switch 2 was officially announced last month. While specifics are still scarce, it's expected to be a more powerful console with enhanced capabilities. Interestingly, it appears to include mouse-like controller functionality, potentially making shooter games like Marvel Rivals feel more PC-like. The exact implementation remains to be seen.The Nintendo Switch 2 release date is currently unannounced, but a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for April 2nd. Marvel Rivals is available now on other platforms, and we highly recommend it. The Human Torch and The Thing are set to join the roster on February 21st.
