Helldivers 2 has just rolled out a significant update, Patch 01.003.000, which is now available for both PC and PlayStation 5 players. This update introduces a host of new features, including fresh Illuminate enemies, weapon customization and progression, and updates to the Superstore, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

Following intriguing teases from developer Arrowhead, Helldivers 2 now faces a full-scale invasion from the Illuminate alien faction. This invasion introduces new enemies, as detailed on the PlayStation Blog. Among them are the Stingray jetfighters, which provide aerial support to the Illuminate by targeting Helldivers with devastating strafing runs, and the Crescent Overseer, capable of laying barrages on Helldivers even when they're taking cover. Additionally, players will encounter the Fleshmob, a "failed" Illuminate experiment described as a brute force on the battlefield, composed of Voteless parts that Helldivers must work hard to destroy.

Arrowhead has hinted at sightings of even larger ships, though their capabilities remain a mystery, adding an element of anticipation for players as they dive back into the game.
