How to Start Battle of Frogs and Mice in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

To kick off the Battle of the Frogs and Mice side quest, you first need to complete either the Mice or Frogs quests for Prochek and Olbram. Once you've seen one of these quests through to the end, the Battle of the Frogs and Mice quest will unlock. To start it, simply speak with Prochek in Tachov or Olbram in Zhelejov, and then head to the pasture to begin the quest.

Should You Side With Prochek or Olbram?

In this quest, Henry must choose between siding with Prochek or Olbram. However, there's a way to stop the feud altogether, which we'll cover in detail below.

To side with Prochek, talk to him in Tachov and say, "Let's get those Zhelejovites!" To side with Olbram, talk to him in Zhelejov and say, "Let's go and see those Tachovites!" During the negotiations at the pasture, avoid trying to reconcile them as it will only trigger the fight prematurely. If you can pass the dialogue check during the negotiations, one person from the opposing side will flee, making the fight easier. Winning the fight for either side will earn you some groschen.

How to Stop the Feud

For a more peaceful resolution, you can end the feud. Before heading to the pasture, ask Prochek or Olbram if they want to end the feud. Then, go to Troskowitz and speak with Bailiff Thrush. Choose the dialogue option, "You'd finally have some peace." You'll need to pass a dialogue check to proceed. If successful, you can go to the scribe's room to read the Troskowitz Chronicle. If you can't persuade the Bailiff, you can sneak in to read it, but remember to save your game first.

Once in the scribe's room, choose the dialogue option, "Fecit, ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei."

Next, go to the pasture and find three oak trees lined up next to each other. Examine the middle tree to find a nail. You have three options with the nail:

• Leaving it in the middle tree will split the pasture equally between Tachov and Zhelejov.
• Putting the nail in the west tree will give more land to Tachov.
• Putting the nail in the east tree will give more land to Zhelejov.

The choice of where to place the nail doesn't significantly impact the outcome, so you can choose based on your preference or remain neutral. After deciding, speak with Bailiff Thrush again, and he'll agree to end the feud. Then, talk to Prochek or Olbram to bring them to the pasture, successfully ending the feud.
