May 29,25

Nintendo officially inaugurates its San Francisco store today, located at 331 Powell Street in Union Square. This marks the second official Nintendo retail space in the United States, following the highly successful New York location, which previously operated under the name Nintendo World Store before being rebranded as Nintendo NY and reopened in 2016.

IGN had the opportunity to visit the new San Francisco store and explore its offerings. Additionally, we sat down with Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser to discuss the company's decision to open its first West Coast store now.

Of course, we couldn’t miss the chance to delve into all things related to the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, launching on June 5. We questioned Bowser about the console's availability across the U.S., the buzz surrounding the Game-Key Cards, and much more.
