Special Room and More Exclusively for Switch 2

During the latest Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, it was revealed that Deltarune will be coming to the new console with Chapters 3 and 4 included. But that's not all—the Switch 2 version boasts some exclusive features that are sure to delight players.

In a Fangamer newsletter, Deltarune creator Toby Fox shared that the Switch 2 version will feature a unique "SPECIAL ROOM." This room will utilize the innovative mouse functionality of the new Joy-Cons, allowing for a unique gameplay experience. Fox described it as, "So, we made a very small SPECIAL ROOM which takes advantage of using MOUSE CONTROLS ON TWO CONTROLLERS AT ONCE, only possible on the Nintendo Switch 2!!"

Don’t worry if you don't have a Switch 2; the SPECIAL ROOM will still be accessible on other devices, though with a different control scheme. Plus, players can transfer their save files from the Nintendo Switch demo of Deltarune 1 and 2 to the new version, ensuring a seamless transition.

Deltarune Future Chapters Will Be Free

Toby Fox also confirmed the pricing for Deltarune in the newsletter. The game will be priced at $24.99, encompassing Chapters 1 and 2, along with the new Chapters 3 and 4. Initially, Chapters 1 and 2 were released for free in 2018 and 2021, respectively, but it was previously announced that future chapters would be paid.

However, in a delightful turn of events, Fox announced that all upcoming chapters will be added as free updates. This means you only need to purchase the game once, and future content will be yours at no additional cost. Fox expressed his hope, stating, "But, it's my hope that as we complete more Chapters, you'll feel like this game was a super super super super good deal."

For music enthusiasts, the Deltarune soundtrack will be available on Steam for $14.99. With over 150 songs included in the release of Chapters 3 and 4, and future songs being added for free, this is a fantastic value for fans.

Deltarune Chapters 1-4 are slated for release on June 5, 2025, coinciding with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2.
