"Days Gone Remastered: New Feature Allows Game Speed Adjustment"
The much-anticipated Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio recently shed light on the accessibility enhancements set to feature in the updated version of the game. One of the standout features is the ability to adjust Game Speed, allowing players to slow down the action during intense moments.
In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, outlined the various accessibility options that will be part of Days Gone Remastered. Players can now choose to slow down the game speed to 75%, 50%, or even 25% of the original pace. This feature is designed to assist players who may find themselves overwhelmed during high-pressure scenarios, especially when facing the game's signature hordes of Freakers. McAllister emphasized that with the introduction of the new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, making these intense encounters more accessible was a key goal.
Beyond the Game Speed adjustment, Days Gone Remastered will also offer a range of other accessibility features. These include customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. Additionally, the auto-complete QTE feature, which was previously exclusive to the Easy difficulty setting, will now be available across all difficulty levels, from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be rolled out to the PC version of Days Gone. However, certain features like feedback and control customization will require a compatible controller to function fully.
Days Gone Remastered was officially announced in February, promising not only enhanced accessibility but also an improved photo mode, permadeath and speedrun options, among other enhancements. This remaster of the 2019 post-apocalyptic zombie action-adventure game, centered around a biker's journey, is set to launch on April 25, 2025. Fans who already own the PS4 version of Days Gone can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10.
