Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 arrives July 17 across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S—though Nintendo Switch 2 players will need to wait longer.

During a livestream, CD Projekt Red developers explained that patch 2.3 requires additional optimization for Switch 2, promising a release "shortly after" other platforms without confirming a date.

Associate Game Director Paweł Sasko revealed this update prioritizes vehicle enhancements and customization. Lead Designer Adrien Jouannet from support studio Virtuos confirmed three new cars and Cyberpunk's first customizable motorcycle, all unlockable through bite-sized quests. Sasko noted these missions activate intuitively but won't affect completion percentages.

The headline addition is AutoDrive—a hands-free navigation system implemented via in-universe software updates. Players can plot routes while respecting traffic laws (including red lights), though the feature disengages during combat. Sasko clarified the team optimized pathfinding to minimize accidental confrontations.

Free-roam explorers gain a wandering mode for perpetual autonomous driving, complemented by Delamain cab services. Combined with the new cinematic camera perspective—inspired by fan-made cruising videos—this creates immersive sightseeing opportunities, complete with photo mode accessibility.

Photography enthusiasts receive substantial upgrades: dynamic time/weather controls, 27 new NPC models, fresh character outfits, and authentic posing options. CDPR hinted at upcoming photo contests leveraging these tools.

Technically, PC players get AMD FSR 3.1 support at launch with FSR 4 compatibility planned for future AMD driver updates. Console versions now properly handle HDR10+ and will soon support VRR. Notably, July 17 also marks the Mac port's release.

While CDPR previously suggested winding down updates after five years, Sasko remained noncommittal about potential anniversary content—leaving space for speculation about December surprises.
