Crafting Artian Weapons

First, you need to unlock this crafting feature. This requires completing the main story, reaching High Rank, and then defeating your first Tempered monster. We won't spoil which monster it is—you'll know it when you see it; the NPCs will make it clear how formidable this beast is.

After defeating the Tempered monster, Gemma will contact you to discuss Artian weapons, triggering a tutorial. You'll learn that she can now craft them. Each weapon type uses three components; you need at least one of each to craft any weapon. But it's more complex than that.

Components have rarity, element type, and an Artian bonus. Only components of the same rarity can be used together. The weapon's elemental effect is determined by the most common element among your components. Two water and one lightning component create a water weapon. Three water components create a stronger water infusion. Three different elements result in no elemental infusion.

The Artian bonus provides either an attack boost or an affinity boost. Attack increases your weapon's damage, while affinity boosts your critical hit chance. The choice is yours, depending on your playstyle.

How to Obtain Artian Materials in Monster Hunter: World

Artian Materials

Acquiring Artian materials is straightforward: hunt Tempered monsters in High Rank. Usually, one or two roam each area after defeating your first. In-game notifications alert you to their presence, and they're easily spotted on the map by their blue outline.

Defeating or capturing a Tempered monster yields Artian parts, found among your post-mission rewards alongside decorations. Rarity increases with your hunter rank. While there's no direct correlation between the hunted monster and the type of Artian parts dropped, hunt monsters you enjoy or need parts from for other weapons or armor.
