Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode spawn delay. Following community feedback, the controversial adjustment has been reverted in the latest update.

The January 3rd update to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 introduced significant alterations to Directed Mode on the Citadelle des Morts map, including a lengthened time between rounds and a delayed zombie spawn after five looped rounds at round 15. This negatively impacted players' ability to efficiently farm kills and complete camo challenges, prompting widespread criticism.

The January 9th patch notes confirmed the reversal of this change, restoring the zombie spawn delay to approximately 20 seconds after five looped rounds. Treyarch acknowledged the initial change was not well-received and prioritized restoring a more enjoyable and rewarding experience. This update also includes various bug fixes for Directed Mode on Citadelle des Morts, addressing issues with quest progression and glitches affecting stamps. Fixes for visual effects glitches and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud have also been implemented.

Furthermore, the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received substantial buffs:

  • Normal enemy activation rate increased to 20% (from 15%).
  • Special enemy activation rate increased to 7% (from 5%).
  • Elite enemy activation rate (with Big Game Augment) increased to 7% (from 5%).
  • Cooldown reduced by 25%.

These improvements aim to make Shadow Rift a more potent and engaging Ammo Mod.

Additional bug fixes and adjustments are slated for the Black Ops 6 Season 2 update on January 28th. Until then, players can continue to earn rewards by completing the Citadelle des Morts main quest before Season 1 Reloaded concludes.
