Details regarding the upcoming "Claws of Awaji" expansion for Assassin's Creed Shadows have seemingly leaked via a now-removed Steam update, according to Insider Gaming. This first DLC for the highly anticipated title adds significant content, including a new region to explore within feudal Japan, a fresh weapon type, expanded skillsets, new gear, and enhanced abilities. The leak suggests the expansion will provide over 10 hours of additional gameplay. Pre-ordering the game will reportedly grant access to both the "Claws of Awaji" DLC and a bonus mission.

This leak follows the recent delay of Assassin's Creed Shadows to March 20, 2025. Initially slated for a November 15, 2024 release, the game was first pushed back to February 14, 2025, and then again to its current release date.
