Recent enthusiasm for a new *Star Wars Battlefront* game has gained momentum, thanks in part to Muhannad Ben Amor—actor from the critically praised *Star Wars* series *Andor*. Known for his role as Wilmon Paak, Ben Amor recently voiced his support for a third installment on social media, reigniting fan hopes for a full sequel.

In a post on Instagram (via Comicbook), he declared, “Star Wars gotta give us Battlefront 3 ASAP,” while also sharing that he's logged over 469 hours in *Battlefront 2*. He added, “Grew up with Battlefront 2 — been a veteran since day one. Let’s HOPE Battlefront 3 happens.”

A Resurgence in Popularity

Over the last month, *Star Wars Battlefront 2* has experienced a major revival, drawing more players than it has in years. This resurgence aligns with the release of season two of *Andor*, along with the general excitement surrounding Star Wars’ annual May 4 celebrations.

After several years of averaging around 2,000 concurrent players on Steam, the game is now nearing its all-time high of 10,000 players—a figure it originally reached back in 2017. Despite DICE officially ending support for the title, the community remains active and engaged.

Is a New Battlefront in the Works?

At the moment, DICE appears focused on delivering its next *Battlefield* title, which is currently in testing and expected to be officially revealed this summer. There have been no official announcements regarding a potential *Star Wars Battlefront 3*.

DICE may also remain cautious about revisiting the franchise after the initial backlash toward *Battlefront 2* due to its loot box system. However, public perception of the game has improved significantly over time, especially after EA removed controversial monetization practices.

IGN reflected this shift in a 2019 re-review, stating: “Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a redemption story worthy of the Skywalker saga... Overall, it’s a great package now that serves as one of the best and most thrilling ways to have an authentic Star Wars gaming experience.”

Did you play Star Wars Battlefront 2 at launch?

While EA no longer holds exclusive rights to develop *Star Wars* games, Respawn Entertainment continues work on its *Star Wars Jedi* trilogy. For now, fans will have to keep their hopes alive through campaigns led by passionate voices like Muhannad Ben Amor—and maybe a few more surprise player spikes won’t hurt either.
