Paramount Pictures has announced significant shifts in its movie release schedule, affecting the eagerly awaited Nickelodeon films, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These changes will see both films hitting theaters later than initially planned.

According to Variety, the release of The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender has been pushed back from January 30, 2026, to October 9, 2026. This delay marks nearly a nine-month wait beyond the originally anticipated date. Fans were expecting the film on January 30, 2026, which itself was a second delay from the initial October 10, 2025, slot. Paramount has shared a new logo for the movie, which you can view below.

No specific reason was provided for this latest delay, but confirmed voice cast members Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam are still set to lend their voices to the project. The film will focus on the original Avatar protagonist, Aang, and is set many years after the conclusion of the beloved series. It received its official title at last month's CinemaCon and is the first of three planned movies set in this universe.

The sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, announced shortly before the first film's premiere in 2023, has also been delayed. Originally set for October 9, 2026, the new release date is now September 17, 2027. This adjustment means fans will have to wait nearly a year longer to see the continuation of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo's story and the payoff of the tantalizing mid-credits scene from the first movie. While plot and cast details remain under wraps, fans can tide themselves over with the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series.
