Grandma's Diary: The Great Escape Attempt

Oh, what a day it's been! That pesky prisoner thought they could outsmart me, but I've been around the block a few times. Let me tell you how it went down.

I was knitting in my rocking chair by the front door when I heard a rustling from the back of the house. My old bones creaked as I got up, but I knew I had to be quick. I shuffled as fast as I could to the kitchen, and there he was, trying to jimmy the lock on the back door.

"Hold it right there, young man!" I bellowed. He froze, surprised to see an old lady like me moving so fast. I grabbed the broom that was leaning against the wall - a trusty weapon if there ever was one.

He tried to make a run for it, but I was ready. I swept his legs right out from under him with a swift broom maneuver. Down he went, and I quickly tied his hands with my knitting yarn. Strong stuff, that yarn, let me tell you!

I dragged him back to the living room and sat him down on the couch. "You're not going anywhere, mister," I said, wagging my finger at him. He looked defeated, and I couldn't help but chuckle. "You thought you could outsmart Grandma, did you?"

I called the authorities and kept a close eye on him until they arrived. They were amazed at how I'd managed to keep him contained. "Just doing my duty," I told them with a wink.

So, the prisoner didn't escape today, thanks to this old grandma. I'll be keeping my eyes peeled, though. You never know when someone might try again. But they'll have to get up pretty early in the morning to outwit me!
