The reveal trailer shows detached Joy-Cons placed attachment-side down on a surface. They connect to connectors with seemingly flat bases, moving across the surface like a mouse on a mousepad. A potential slider pad is visible on one connector, further supporting this theory.

Pre-reveal speculation centered on an internal Joy-Con sensor, similar to those in computer mice. However, Nintendo hasn't officially confirmed this feature or its implications.
