XD Inc.'s upcoming major title is Heartopia, a game inspired by the cozy, community-driven life simulation of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. This charming small-town life simulator is scheduled for a global release in 2026, with plans for launch on both PC and mobile platforms.

The studio has unveiled a first-look trailer and will showcase Heartopia at the Tokyo Game Show 2025 in Japan. A playable demo will be available from September 25th to 28th.

XD Inc. will host booth activities in Hall 2 (02-C07). Attendees during the event days can experience the hands-on demo, participate in a cosplay contest with cash prizes, and enter a raffle to win plush toys.

What is Heartopia, the Animal Crossing-like game, all about?

The reveal trailer highlights the game's stylistic similarities to Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley. The journey begins with a mystical Star Spirit guiding the player to a dreamy island, where they take on the role of the town's developer.

Gameplay revolves around settling into peaceful pastimes. The trailer, edited like a "day in the life" vlog, shows the main character exploring the town on a rainy day with an umbrella, visiting shops, playing with pets, and cooking a meal for friends. You can watch it right here!

As the video demonstrates, Heartopia emphasizes a deliberately relaxed pace and atmospheric immersion over high-stakes action. Players can invest time in six core activities: fishing, gardening, bug catching, birdwatching, cooking, and caring for pets.

The game features a comprehensive in-game encyclopedia tied directly to these hobbies. Progressing in each activity fills the encyclopedia with entries and unlocks special rewards.
