Xbox Game Pass January 2025: New Games and Departures

Microsoft has unveiled its first wave of Xbox Game Pass additions for 2025, confirming several anticipated titles and announcing departures. The lineup includes a mix of genres and access levels, ensuring something for most subscribers.

New Arrivals:

Microsoft's January 7th announcement via the official Xbox blog revealed seven new games joining the service. Leading the charge is Road 96, a choice-driven adventure available immediately across all Game Pass tiers (including PC). This marks a welcome return for the title, previously available on the service. Six more games follow later in the month:

  • Road 96: Available January 7th (All tiers)
  • Lightyear Frontier (Preview): January 8th (Standard and above)
  • My Time at Sandrock: January 8th (Standard and above)
  • Robin Hood – Sherwood Builders: January 8th (Standard and above)
  • Rolling Hills: January 8th (Standard and above)
  • UFC 5: January 14th (Ultimate only)
  • Diablo: January 14th (Ultimate and PC Game Pass)

The inclusion of Diablo and UFC 5 confirms earlier leaks. However, note that access to these titles is restricted; Diablo is exclusive to Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, while UFC 5 is a Game Pass Ultimate-only offering.

Alongside the new games, several Game Pass Ultimate perks launched on January 7th, including weapon charms for Apex Legends and DLC for First Descendant, Vigor, and Metaball.

Departures:

Six games are leaving Xbox Game Pass on January 15th:

  • Common'hood
  • Escape Academy
  • Exoprimal
  • Figment
  • Insurgency Sandstorm
  • Those Who Remain

Looking Ahead:

This is just the first half of January's lineup. Microsoft promises further announcements for the latter half of the month and beyond, so keep an eye out for more exciting additions to the Xbox Game Pass catalog.
