Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord residing in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer is situated at the maze's heart in Oakheart Highcourt, beneath a massive tree. An accessible entrance lies southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.

The Lifer's Board Game Challenge

Inside, you'll find the Lifer beside a six-piece board game. The goal is to create a three-piece line before the Lifer does. Winning isn't mandatory for the fight, but crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Winning with the Lifer's buffs active is strongly discouraged.

Removing the Lifer's Buffs: The Key to Victory

The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. A glowing yellow module behind the Lifer displays these buffs.

Removable Buffs (using Stakes of Imbalance):

  • Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of inactivity.
  • Desire for Escape: Significantly increased ATK and DMG over time.
  • Impending Stalemate: Stacking ATK increase with each DMG dealt.
  • Decay of Time: Massive resistance boosts and Max HP increase.

Permanent Buffs:

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking significant DMG.

To find the Stakes of Imbalance, use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (marked by a white glow). One room requires defeating Tacet Discords, another involves breaking Friable Rocks, and the last is simply on a table.

Place each Stake in the corresponding module to remove a buff. The purple line will turn yellow upon successful debuffing.

Defeating the Lifer: A More Manageable Encounter

With the four removable buffs gone, the Lifer becomes significantly weaker. Engage via the board game or by selecting "Fight it out!". Victory yields valuable rewards:

  • First Win: Premium Supply Chest
  • Second Win: Premium Supply Chest + three Basic Supply Chests
  • Third Win: Advanced Supply Chest + three Standard Supply Chests

You can re-enable buffs for a greater challenge, but no achievements are tied to this.

Achievements: Prove Your Mastery

Complete these achievements for additional rewards:

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine chests (three victories).
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.

For board game struggles, focus on blocking the Lifer's moves. It will eventually make a mistake.
