"Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Premiere Date Set for IGN Fan Fest 2025"
Excitement is building as *The Walking Dead: Dead City* Season 2 gears up for its premiere on May 4, 2025, a date revealed exclusively at IGN Fan Fest 2025. Fans got a thrilling sneak peek during Day 2 of the event, with an exclusive clip and interviews featuring Scott Gimple, the chief content officer of The Walking Dead universe, alongside actors Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
Lauren Cohan, who plays Maggie, shared insights into her character's mental state heading into the new season. "Sadly, not everything is quite as rosy as it could be or seems or one would hope," she stated. She elaborated on the domestic tensions Maggie faces, juggling the challenges of raising her teenage son and caring for Ginny, all set against the backdrop of an apocalyptic world where survival is a daily battle. "That’s where we find ourselves before another big bad thing happens," Cohan added.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, portraying the complex character Negan, discussed his character's current predicament. "We find Negan very much under the thumb of The Dama and The Croat, and on some ground he’s not real familiar with," Morgan revealed. He hinted at Negan's ongoing struggle to regain control, saying, "He’s going to try flip that script, of course. But he’s in a place that I don’t think he’s enjoying very much." Morgan also expressed his fondness for Negan's iconic weapon, Lucille, the baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, named after his deceased wife. "The Lucille of it all, what can I say? I love that thing!" he exclaimed, though humorously noting that the sentiment might not be shared by his co-star Lauren Cohan.
Scott Gimple shed light on the season's overarching conflict, explaining, "There is no single big bad. There’s a lot of shifting as far as the power ranking for this season. It isn’t all antagonistic. It’s a little more complex like that. It’s a little more political. And then we get kinda physical." This suggests a season filled with intricate power dynamics and intense physical confrontations.
IGN also treated fans to the opening minutes of the first episode of *The Walking Dead: Dead City* Season 2, heightening anticipation for its release on AMC on May 4, 2025. Stay tuned for more updates from IGN Fan Fest 2025.
