"Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025"

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, pushing its release to October 2025. This minor setback follows a series of schedule adjustments detailed in a recent update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The game was previously slated for release in the first half of the year, but this latest delay, while disappointing, comes with the assurance that the game is now complete.

"The status of the game right now is that the game is done," stated Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. "We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases."

Despite the frustration of yet another delay, the update video provides some positive news. The Chinese Room has added more content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. Additionally, they've promised that Fabien will have an "evolved role" in the storyline upon the game's launch. However, fans should note that updates will be less frequent moving forward, as indicated by a post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.

Even those only casually following the development of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 are aware of its tumultuous journey. Initially revealed in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs with a planned launch in Q1 2020, the game faced multiple delays. The first delay pushed it to late 2020, followed by another delay to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit Labs in March 2021. The significant change came in 2023 when Hardsuit Labs was replaced by The Chinese Room, aiming for a 2024 release. Now, after one more delay, fans can look forward to playing the game in October 2025.

With the game's release now set for this fall, it remains uncertain whether Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, the sequel to the 2004 cult-classic, will finally satisfy eager fans. However, The Chinese Room seems optimistic. Looking ahead, Paradox has hinted that, should Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful release, "someone else" will take on the development of Bloodlines 3.
