Tribe Nine Announces EOS Just Months After Launching Globally

Akatsuki Games has made a surprising announcement regarding their latest game, Tribe Nine. Despite launching just a few months ago in February across Android, iOS, and PC via Steam, the game is already facing its end-of-service (EOS). Let's delve into the details and explore the reasons behind this unexpected decision.

When Is the Tribe Nine EOS?

Tribe Nine will officially shut down on November 27th, 2025. In addition to the shutdown, Akatsuki Games has confirmed that Chapter 4 of the main story will not be released, cutting off the narrative just as it began to build anticipation for what was to come. This news is particularly disappointing for fans who were eagerly awaiting the next chapter.

As of May 15th, all new updates, features, bug fixes, and content releases have been halted. This means any previously announced adjustments or new features are now off the table. Additionally, two characters, Ichinosuke Akiba and Saizo Akiba, who were slated to join the game's roster, will no longer be added.

Regarding in-game purchases, refunds will be issued for Paid Enigma Entities used on items such as Armed Support, Advanced Support, and the Support Contract – Revenio. These refunds will be processed after the Revenio contract ends. Moreover, you can no longer purchase Enigma Entities or Daily Passes through the app or web store, though you can continue using any Enigma Entities you currently possess until the game's official shutdown.

Why Did It Fail, So Soon?

Tribe Nine is a free-to-play extreme action RPG that boasts a unique style and rich worldbuilding. Despite its quality, the game struggled from the start. The release schedule was notably slow, with only one story chapter and one event released over three months. Additionally, the game's monetization model did not encourage spending. Players could build a competitive team with just one pull, and duplicate characters were not necessary, which, while player-friendly, did not benefit the developers financially.

The decision to implement a gacha system seems to have been a risky move for Tribe Nine, and it appears not to have paid off. Despite its challenges, the game remains playable until November 27th, so if you haven't yet experienced it, you can still check it out on the Google Play Store.
