TikTok is officially banned in the United States. Users attempting to access the app are met with a message stating its unavailability due to recently enacted legislation. The message also notes President Trump's indication of working towards a solution to reinstate TikTok upon taking office, and offers users the option to download their data.

The U.S. Supreme Court unanimously rejected TikTok's final appeal, citing national security concerns regarding data collection and its relationship with a foreign adversary, despite acknowledging the app's popularity and expressive value for millions of Americans. The court's ruling emphasized Congress's determination that divestiture is necessary to address these concerns.

While TikTok hopes for reinstatement under a future Trump administration, no concrete timeline has been established. President Trump hinted at a potential 90-day delay of the ban, allowing time for a U.S. or allied entity to acquire the app. This acquisition failure directly resulted in the ban. Furthermore, the ban has extended to other apps linked to ByteDance, TikTok's parent company, including CapCut, Lemon8, and Marvel Snap.
