Nightdive Studios has thrilled fans by announcing the launch of the System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster on June 26, 2025. This highly anticipated modernized version of the beloved 1999 sci-fi horror action role-playing game will be available on a variety of platforms, expanding its reach beyond PC to include consoles for the first time. Gamers can look forward to playing on Windows PC through Steam, GOG, the Epic Games Store, and the Humble Bundle Store, as well as on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch.

Utilizing Nightdive Studios' proprietary KEX Engine, the remaster has been meticulously rebuilt for modern platforms. Set 42 years after the events of the first System Shock, the notorious antagonist SHODAN and her army of merciless mutants have taken over the starship Von Braun. Players take on the role of a soldier who awakens from cryo-sleep with cybernetic implants. As he navigates the eerie corridors of the derelict starship, he must sharpen his upgradable skills and wield powerful weapons and paranormal psionic abilities to combat SHODAN's monstrous creations and confront her narcissistic god complex.
