Exciting news for fans of video game adaptations: Sydney Sweeney, known for her role in *Madame Web*, has been confirmed to star in the upcoming movie adaptation of Hazelight's *Split Fiction*. The film is being helmed by *Wicked* director Jon M. Chu, with the screenplay penned by the talented duo behind *Deadpool & Wolverine*, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Story Kitchen, the powerhouse behind the successful Sonic films, is orchestrating this project and is currently shopping the package to Hollywood studios, anticipating a heated bidding war.

While it's still up in the air which sister Sweeney will portray—Zoe or Mio—the anticipation is palpable. *Split Fiction*, which only launched in March, has already proven to be a massive hit for Hazelight and designer Josef Fares, selling over 2 million copies in its first week. The game is also slated to be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2. IGN's glowing review awarded it a 9/10, praising its "expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another."

Hazelight isn't stopping there; their other blockbuster, *It Takes Two*, which sold 23 million copies, is also being adapted into a film, with rumors swirling that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson might star in it. While there's always a chance these projects might not come to fruition, the current wave of successful video game adaptations suggests Hollywood is eager to make these stories come alive on the big screen.

Story Kitchen is on a roll, having recently announced a film adaptation of Square Enix's *Just Cause*, directed by Ángel Manuel Soto of *Blue Beetle* fame. They're also working on adaptations of *Dredge: The Movie*, *Kingmakers*, *Sleeping Dogs*, and even a live-action *Toys 'R' Us* movie. Meanwhile, Hazelight is already teasing their next game, keeping fans eagerly awaiting what's next from the innovative studio.
