"Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Last Major Update"

May 05,25

Rocksteady Studios has announced that Season 4 Episode 8 marks the final major content update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. This live-service game, which launched to mixed reviews in February 2024, will see no further content development after the patch released on January 14. Players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC can now dive into the concluding episode titled "Balance."

Despite the game's innovative premise that promised to captivate superhero enthusiasts, its integration of live-service mechanics was met with criticism and is considered a primary factor in its swift decline. Just ten months after its debut, Rocksteady confirmed on December 9, 2024, that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would wrap up with Season 4 Episode 8. However, the studio assured fans that the game's servers would continue to operate, allowing players to enjoy the title with friends online.

Following a brief period of server maintenance, the final update for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been rolled out. With the servers now back online, players can explore Season 4 Episode 8: Balance. This update introduces an array of new content, including the Libra Infamy Set inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, a selection of potent Notorious weapons, and a climactic Mayhem mission against Brainiac. Additionally, the patch includes numerous bug fixes and gameplay adjustments, such as reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels.

Even after the release of Season 4 Episode 8, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League remains accessible offline thanks to the offline mode introduced in Season 4 Episode 7. This feature enables players to experience the main campaign and all seasonal story missions without an internet connection. While no definitive shutdown of the game's servers has been announced, this offline capability ensures continued enjoyment for fans.

For those yet to experience this DC anti-hero adventure, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3, alongside The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Patch Notes for Season 4 Episode 8 Update

MEDIEVAL GENIUS

In Episode 8: Balance, delve deeper into the medieval Elseworld with new twists on familiar sights and fresh locations. Challenge yourself at The Quarry, a fortified citadel that must be conquered to defeat the tyrant Brainiac. The Arena offers a venue for jousting tournaments or interdimensional battles, while the statues of King Jor-El and Queen Lara Lor-Van pay homage to this era of chivalry and honor.

LIBRA INFAMY SET

Inspired by the DC Super-Villain Libra, the Episode 8 Infamy Set focuses on balance. The Scales of Libra mechanic increases both the damage dealt and received by enemies by 50% per stack, fostering a high-risk, high-reward gameplay style that encourages bold and dynamic strategies.

NOTORIOUS WEAPONS

Complementing the Libra Infamy Set, The Silencer’s Complete Silence weapons offer a 200% damage bonus against enemies affected by Scales of Libra. The Alt-Fire mode delivers a staggering 1,000% bonus damage and creates a Silencer Zone, significantly reducing enemy damage output for crowd control.

Doctor Sivana’s Magic Bullets pierce through foes, applying Scales of Libra and potentially electrifying them, making them ideal for taking down multiple enemies at once. Chronos’ Equilibrium amplifies damage by 25% for every 1% of Shield missing, promoting a risky yet powerful playstyle amidst the chaos of battle.
