Today marks an exciting expansion for Star Wars Outlaws with the release of the A Pirate’s Fortune DLC, available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The driving force behind this new content? None other than the beloved Weequay pirate, Hondo Ohnaka. Fans of this cheeky rascal, who has previously charmed audiences in Darth Maul comics and Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, have a lot to celebrate.

Drew Rechner, the Creative Director at Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment, shared with IGN the inspiration behind the DLC. "We always knew because there were so many passionate people on the team that we needed to feature Hondo. And, you know, that scoundrel fantasy of Kay mixing with the pirate fantasy of Hondo, it just kind of makes sense, right?" Rechner explained. The expansion not only taps into the team's affection for Hondo but also enriches Kay's journey. As she grows into her role as a leader, Hondo's ambiguous mentorship adds a fascinating layer to her development.

The A Pirate’s Fortune DLC introduces a thrilling new adventure centered around the Rokana Raiders crime gang and the Miyuki Trade League. Players will have the opportunity to upgrade Kay's Trailblazer ship and wield a new blaster capability called Shock, adding depth and excitement to the gameplay.

In other news, Star Wars Outlaws is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4. While Rechner remained tight-lipped about specific features for this new platform, he hinted at more information to come. "In terms of a specific feature set, that's something that we will get into later. So we'll have more stuff to talk about later," he teased. The Switch 2's unique features, such as controllers that can function as a mouse and a new GameChat capability, could potentially enhance the gaming experience.

Dive into the A Pirate’s Fortune DLC and experience the high seas of the Star Wars universe with Hondo Ohnaka leading the charge.
