"Star Wars, Mandalorian Join Monopoly Go"

May 30,25

For fans of both mobile gaming and the galaxy far, far away, Monopoly Go is serving up a healthy dose of intergalactic flair with its latest collaboration. Teaming up with Star Wars, the game is rolling out a special event from May 1 to July 2, drawing inspiration from the iconic Skywalker Saga and The Mandalorian. Expect to see some of your favorite Star Wars characters getting adorable cartoon makeovers, adding a touch of sci-fi charm to the classic board game vibe.

This limited-time event introduces a Star Wars Go sticker album for players to complete, along with podracing in the Mos Espa Grand Arena—a nod to the franchise’s rich lore. There are also collectible in-game items such as tokens, shields, and emojis. And yes, it gets weirder—the likes of Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Han Solo, R2-D2, Yoda, Anakin Skywalker, and Qui-Gon Jinn are all set to share the board with Mr. Monopoly, aka Rich Uncle Pennybags.

This isn’t the first time Monopoly Go has dabbled in crossovers. Last September, Marvel made its mark with appearances from Spider-Man, Wolverine, and the Avengers. Publisher Scopely has also been busy expanding its horizons, acquiring teams behind popular games like Pokémon GO, Pikmin Bloom, and Monster Hunter Now.

With impressive stats to boot, Monopoly Go ranked as the top game for consumer spending in 2024, raking in a staggering $2.47 billion. The game also saw 150 million downloads and boasts 10 million daily active users, proving that this digital monopoly is here to stay.
