"Star Wars: Hunters Shuts Down Before First Anniversary"

Apr 21,25

Star Wars: Hunters is set to shut down even before reaching its first anniversary, yet it will still celebrate that milestone before closing its doors. But the question remains: is it really worth celebrating the anniversary of a game on its way out?

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers for Star Wars: Hunters are scheduled to shut down on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of the game after only nine months since its launch. Players have until April 15th to wrap up Season 5.

Zynga, both the developer and publisher, is set to release a final content update on April 15th, introducing the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. On the same day, in-game purchases will be disabled.

Ranked Mode will continue until the servers go offline, and events from the season will be rerun. Players with unspent Crystals should use them as no refunds will be issued.

It Isn’t Shocking

While it's disappointing, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters doesn't come as a surprise. The game faced numerous delays after its announcement in 2020, with beta tests limited to the SEA and ANZAC regions.

The lack of major console support and a tepid reception contributed to its downfall. Even the game's design missed the mark by opting for generic original characters rather than leveraging the iconic figures from the Star Wars universe.

If you've uninstalled the game but are considering one last playthrough, it's still available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
