Star Wars 2025 Reveals New Tactics Game

Oct 29,25

EA's upcoming Star Wars turn-based tactics game will make its debut at Star Wars Celebration 2025.

Initially announced in early 2022, this untitled Star Wars strategy title is being developed by Bit Reactor, a studio founded by Firaxis Games veterans renowned for their work on the XCOM series. Collaborating closely with Respawn Entertainment (creators of Star Wars Jedi), Bit Reactor is poised to unveil their long-awaited project.

The official reveal is scheduled for April 19 during a live panel featuring key developers from Bit Reactor, Respawn Entertainment, and Lucasfilm Games, as confirmed by the Star Wars Celebration 2025 itinerary.

While concrete details remain scarce - including the game's Star Wars timeline or core mechanics - its development by XCOM alumni strongly suggests tactical gameplay infused with classic Star Wars elements.

Meanwhile, Respawn continues development on the third installment of its Star Wars Jedi series, though its appearance at this year's Celebration seems unlikely. The studio previously shelved another Star Wars project: a rumored Mandalorian-themed FPS canceled during EA's major restructuring that affected approximately 670 employees. Recently, Respawn also discontinued an experimental multiplayer FPS project.

Other Star Wars Celebration highlights will include exclusive previews of The Mandalorian & Grogu movie (slated for May 2026) and Star Wars: Visions Volume 3.
