GSC Game World has exciting news for fans of the iconic S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series with the announcement of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy - Enhanced Edition. Set to launch on May 20 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, this next-gen upgrade brings a fresh take on the classic trilogy, including Shadow of Chornobyl (2007), Clear Sky (2008), and Call of Prypiat (2009). Players can look forward to a comprehensive overhaul featuring stunning visual enhancements, optimizations tailored for next-gen consoles, and an expanded mod support system that promises to enrich the gaming experience.

For current owners of the trilogy on Xbox Series X and S or PS5, GSC Game World is offering the Enhanced Edition upgrades at no additional cost. On PC, as a gesture of appreciation to loyal fans, those who already own the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games will receive the Enhanced Editions for free. New buyers of the Enhanced Editions on PC will also get the original versions included. The trilogy can be purchased as a bundle for $39.99 or individually at $19.99 per title.

It's important to note that cross-platform saves are not supported, so your progress will remain specific to the platform you're playing on. On PS5 and Xbox Series X and S, gamers can choose from various frame-rate options for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy Enhanced Edition, including standard modes at 30 FPS and 60 FPS, and enhanced modes targeting 40 FPS and up to 120 FPS, available exclusively on displays with VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) technology.

Console players will benefit from a range of graphical and performance modes, including Quality, Balanced, Performance, and Ultra Performance modes. For Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 5 Pro, options include Quality (native 4K/30 FPS), Balanced (upscaled 4K/40 FPS), Performance (upscaled 4K/60 FPS), and Ultra Performance (upscaled 2K/120 FPS). Xbox Series S users will have Quality (native 2K/30 FPS), Balanced (upscaled 2K/40 FPS), and Performance (1080p/60 FPS) modes. Both the Balanced and Ultra Performance modes require a VRR-capable display.

Visual upgrades across all platforms include enhanced lighting with godrays, screen space reflections, and global illumination for a more immersive atmosphere. Additionally, players will enjoy upscaled textures, detailed 3D models for NPCs, weapons, and environments, advanced shaders for water and wetness effects, upgraded skyboxes, 4K pre-rendered cinematics, and improved weapon FOV for enhanced combat visibility.

Console-specific enhancements for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S include keyboard and mouse support for a more tailored gaming experience. The introduction of mod.io integration also allows players to create and share mods across PC and consoles seamlessly.

PC gamers will appreciate the optimized experience for Steam Deck, enabling play on the go. The integration with Steam Workshop opens access to a vast library of user-generated mods, while cloud saves ensure seamless progress backup across devices. Additionally, full gamepad support offers a console-like experience on PC.

GSC Game World, based in Kyiv, Ukraine, continues to innovate after the success of last year's S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, showcasing their resilience and commitment to delivering exceptional gaming experiences amidst challenging times.
