"Split Fiction Surpasses 2 Million Sales in One Week"

Hazelight Games is celebrating the phenomenal success of their latest co-op adventure, Split Fiction, which has sold an impressive 2 million copies within just one week of its release. Launched on March 6 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, the game has quickly established itself as another blockbuster hit for the studio. Hazelight expressed their gratitude on social media, stating they are "blown away" by the enthusiastic support from both new and loyal fans.

The game's rapid sales trajectory was evident right from the start, with 1 million copies sold within the first 48 hours of its release. This means an additional million copies were snapped up in the following five days, showcasing the sustained interest in the dual-protagonist sci-fi narrative of Mio and Zoe.

Given that Split Fiction is a co-op game, the actual number of players enjoying the experience is likely much higher than the sales figures suggest. The game's innovative Friend's Pass feature enhances its reach by allowing one player to purchase the game and invite a friend to play for free. As buzz around Split Fiction continues to grow on social media, these sales numbers are expected to climb even higher.

Hazelight's previous title, the 2021 Game of the Year winner It Takes Two, followed a similar path to success. It sold around 1 million copies shortly after its March 2021 launch, eventually reaching 10 million copies by February 2023, and an astounding 20 million by October 2024.

In IGN's Split Fiction review, the game was praised as "an expertly crafted co-op adventure that pinballs from one genre extreme to another," highlighting its unique and engaging gameplay experience.
