May 29,25

Hazelight's highly acclaimed co-op adventure, Split Fiction, has reached nearly four million sales worldwide. In its recent financial report, publisher Electronic Arts (EA) proudly announced this achievement, praising the game as a "remarkably successful debut" and highlighting it as a key contributor to EA's strong conclusion of the 2025 fiscal year.

"FOUR MILLION COPIES SOLD!!!" Hazelight jubilantly announced via social media upon hearing the news. "So many of you have already jumped into Split Fiction—it’s incredible! Watching the joy players experience while immersed in our story and seeing the affection for characters like Mio, Zoe, and others truly fills our hearts at Hazelight. Oh, and let’s not forget all the hot dogs made along the way!"

Split Fiction, which launched in March, continues to captivate audiences with its innovative cooperative gameplay, allowing two players to enjoy the experience even if only one owns the game. The title achieved over two million sales within its first week, further solidifying Hazelight’s reputation under the creative direction of Josef Fares. Additionally, it served as a prominent launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2, as Hazelight shifts focus toward their next project.

A film adaptation of Split Fiction is also underway, with Story Kitchen—the studio behind adaptations such as the Sonic movies—currently gathering a team of writers, a director, and an impressive cast, including Sydney Sweeney.

In our IGN Split Fiction review, we described the game as "an impeccably designed and engrossing co-op adventure that seamlessly transitions between wildly different genres," noting that it offers a "14-hour thrill ride packed with fresh gameplay ideas that constantly evolve and surprise."
