Silksong Developer Reaffirms Release for Switch 1

Following Silksong's brief appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might skip the current generation and head straight to the next-gen. Originally announced in 2019 for PC and the original Switch, and later confirmed for PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Silksong has been eagerly awaited.

On April 8, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, Matthew Griffin, took to Twitter (X) to address fans' concerns about the game's platform release. Griffin confirmed that Silksong will indeed be released for both the original Switch and the Switch 2.

While there are no official details on how these versions will differ, players can anticipate that the game will run at a higher resolution on the Switch 2, thanks to its enhanced capabilities.

New Silksong Images Revealed

Following the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2, new images of Silksong were posted on Nintendo Japan’s official website. Although the locations depicted in these images were previously seen, fans have noted some graphical enhancements since their initial reveal in 2019.

Despite the developers maintaining a tight-lipped approach on most details about the game, Silksong's appearance during the Switch 2 Direct and the release of new images hint that an announcement regarding the release date might be imminent. Recent changes to Silksong’s Steam Metadata have further fueled fans' hopes for a release this year.
