Silent Hill 2 Remake developers dream of a horror in the “Lord of the Rings” universe
Bloober Team, the studio behind the acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake, recently revealed a fascinating concept: a Lord of the Rings survival horror game. While the project ultimately fell through due to licensing issues, the idea of exploring Middle-earth's darker corners through a grim survival horror lens captivated fans and developers alike.
The game director, Mateusz Lenart, discussed this intriguing possibility during a recent Bonfire Conversations podcast. The studio envisioned a terrifying experience, leveraging the rich tapestry of dark plots within Tolkien's works to create a truly immersive and tense atmosphere.
Although the Lord of the Rings horror game remains unrealized, Bloober Team is currently concentrating on their new project, Cronos: The New Dawn, and potentially further collaborations with Konami on Silent Hill titles.
