Apr 24,25

Sonic Rumble, although not yet globally launched, has kicked off with an exciting crossover event titled Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars. This event is currently live and will run until May 7th, right before the game's worldwide launch scheduled for May 8th.

Currently in soft launch, Sonic Rumble is available in over 40 countries. It underwent its first pre-launch phase in Summer 2024, making its debut in regions such as the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. The second pre-launch phase expanded to include Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa, and additional regions.

What’s in Store?

If you're located in one of the regions where Sonic Rumble has soft-launched, you're in for a treat with the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars crossover. The Altered Beast crew makes a comeback, offering the Werewolf transformation for free.

For fans of the classic beast modes, you can now acquire the Werebear and Weredragon. The Weredragon comes with the Premium Pass, whereas the Werebear can be purchased using regular rings.

The event also brings in characters from Fantasy Zone, with Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa joining the fray. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, and Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments, which cost 700 standard rings each.

Super Monkey Ball's AiAi and MeeMee have also rolled into the crossover. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. You can get a glimpse of the event in the video below:

Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover

You can collect SEGA logos during matches to earn extra goodies. Although it may seem unusual for the event to be live before the global release, SEGA has confirmed that most of these pre-release rewards will return later.

The inclusion of various iconic SEGA characters from different games creates a thrilling crossover, blending the past and present of SEGA's catalog. This mix of monkeys, sentient arcade ships, and transformed beasts interacting with Sonic and friends adds a promising dynamic to Sonic Rumble.

You can download the game from the Google Play Store if it's available in your region, or look forward to its global launch on May 8th.
