Ryan Reynolds in Early Talks for Deadpool and X-Men Movie

May 20,25

Ryan Reynolds is reportedly in the "early stages" of developing a new film that would bring together Deadpool and the X-Men. According to THR, this project would not focus solely on Deadpool but would instead be an ensemble film where he shares the spotlight with three or four other X-Men characters. Reynolds' vision is to have these characters take center stage and be "used in unexpected ways," adding a fresh twist to the familiar superhero formula.

This proposed movie would be distinct from the X-Men film currently in development with Hunger Games writer Michael Lesslie. Reynolds is known for fleshing out his ideas independently before presenting them to Marvel, a method he also employed with Deadpool & Wolverine, which initially was conceived as a low-budget road trip film.

While this isn't the first time rumors have circulated about Reynolds working on a Deadpool ensemble movie, the latest reports provide more insight into the potential direction of the Merc With a Mouth's next adventure. As for which X-Men characters might join Deadpool, it remains a mystery. However, given Deadpool's history, characters like Wolverine, Colossus, Sabertooth, Pyro, and even Channing Tatum's Gambit could make appearances.
