Rust Unveils Major Update with Improved Cooking, Farming Features

May 01,25

Rust, the beloved multiplayer survival game, has just unleashed a significant update known as The Crafting Update. This patch is designed to broaden players' creative horizons with a suite of exciting new features. One of the standout additions is the culinary workbench, where survivors can now indulge in grilling chicken legs and enjoying them with a shot of Siberian vodka. Crafting these dishes involves following specific recipes, and well-prepared meals grant stat boosts and modifiers that can significantly enhance your gameplay experience.

The update also introduces chicken coops, enabling players to raise chickens and chicks. These feathered friends need a nurturing environment to lay eggs and thrive, with four crucial attributes to manage: Hunger, Thirst, Love, and Sunlight. Failing to meet any of these needs can lead to the unfortunate demise of your birds. Chicken meat, once obtained, will spoil over time unless stored properly in a working refrigerator. Additionally, food items now feature timers to alert players of their expiration dates, adding a realistic touch to survival management.

For those with a penchant for sweets, wild beehives can now be discovered on trees. Extracting honeycombs requires care and relocating them to player-crafted hives made from wooden boxes. However, handling bees is not for the faint-hearted; protective suits, water dousing, or even flamethrowers might be necessary to avoid painful stings. A novel weapon, the Bee Grenade, looks like a jar of honey but unleashes three swarms of aggressive bees upon shattering, prompting players to scatter in panic.

The engineering workbench has undergone a complete overhaul, now boasting a dedicated tech tree for plumbing and electricity. This allows players to construct sophisticated automated systems and even entire factories, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in Rust. Furthermore, the developers have introduced premium servers, exclusively available to players whose Rust inventory is valued at least at $15. This initiative aims to create a more refined gaming environment by filtering out cheaters and disruptive players, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable experience for dedicated gamers.
