The popular Roblox first-person shooter PvP experience, Rivals, has dropped Update 9, introducing the exciting new Gunblade weapon and the Bridge map.

Developer Nosniy Games detailed these additions in today's patch notes, alongside a few minor tweaks. While a smaller update than some recent releases, it still packs a punch.

Rivals players appreciate the intense FPS gameplay and diverse weaponry, and the Gunblade fits right in. This versatile weapon functions as both a ranged rifle and a melee blade, offering tactical advantages. Its effectiveness is particularly noticeable on the new Bridge map, a concrete, close-quarters combat arena suspended high above the ground. With limited cover and a lone bus as a central feature, the Bridge map, created by @GreatGuyBoom and set in Seoul, promises intense firefights.

Interestingly, Rivals Update 9 patch notes omit specific bug fixes, balance changes, and quality-of-life improvements. The developers explain this decision, prioritizing the addition of the Bridge map and Gunblade. While minor modifications were made to the Demon Shorty and Demon Uzi skins, and some weapon names were updated, Nosniy Games promises more substantial changes in the next major update, which will include the highly anticipated Ranked mode.

The team stated, "We hear all of your feedback and want to reassure you all that every necessary & additional changes/improvements will be made in time for Ranked."

NEW MAP

The brand-new Bridge map has arrived! Enter this arena-style duel zone located in Seoul, Korea! Made by @GreatGuyBoom!

NEW SPECIAL CHALLENGES!

The Winter Spotlight has been removed and replaced with a brand new set of challenges! Complete a series of tasks on the new Bridge map to earn keys & the limited-time Bungeoppang charm!

OTHER

The Demon Shorty & Demon Uzi skins have been slightly modified. The Hexxed Flare Gun skin, Hexxed Candle skin, and Hexxed wrap have been renamed to Vexed Flare Gun, Vexed Candle, & Vexed respectively.
